It also addresses welfare and conflict management, outlining the support available to everyone who is attending.

This event has been organised by the Climate and Migrant Justice Organising Group (the CMJ), with support from groups across both movements and input from all participants.

The CMJ is a collective of migrant and climate groups working to strengthen the intersection and connect our two movements. The group aims to embed migrant and racial justice in climate action, to counter the securitisation of the climate crisis and hostile border systems in a way that strengthens both movements. We work to build solidarity between climate and migrant groups through:

• Organising & convening
• Communication and learning
• Collaborative action, campaigns and mobilisations

This event has been organised as part of our long-term movement building strategy development. The CMJ is convened by the Climate Justice Coalition, its members include:

Migrants Organise, Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, No Borders in Climate Justice, War on Want, Climate and Migration Coalition, Racial Justice Network, Tipping Point, People and Planet, Global Justice Now, Climate Justice Coalition.

You can find more about our work here.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this event: donating into the grassroots fund, contributing to sessions, providing input and support, and to our wonderful hosts in Sheffield you are all amazing.
