Make sure your voice is heard on polling day
As we approach the General Election on Thursday, 4th July make sure you’re prepared to cast your vote. Here’s a quick guide on everything you need to know:
Voting on Election Day
- Polling Hours: Polls will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday, 4th July.
Voter Registration
- Check Registration: Confirm your status online.
- Register to Vote: Register by 18th June or by 19th June if you want to vote by post. Visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register online.
- Update Details: Ensure your information is current if you’ve moved or changed your name.
Voting by Proxy
- Deadline: Apply for a proxy vote (someone voting on your behalf) by 26th June.
- How to Apply: Visit the official government website for details on how to apply for a proxy vote.
Voter ID Requirements
- Accepted IDs: Bring a passport, driving license, or another government-issued ID. Check with your local election office for a full list.
- No ID?: Contact your local election office for alternatives, like a voter ID card.
- Plan Ahead: Have your ID ready to avoid issues on election day.
