Justice for the people! Strategies from the global south for the defense of communities in the face of systemic crisis.
The Make big polluters pay campaign! Latin America and the Caribbean invite the panel to learn about the struggles of local communities facing extractive policies that cover up the activities of large corporations responsible for the climate crisis. The impacts of these policies and activities result in innumerable rights violations and direct impacts in many cases irreversible on ecosystems, on the territories, and the bodies of millions of people who are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis. We will learn about the proposals and strategies that these struggles are promoting to make the big polluters be sanctioned and demand reparations.
