Our "pint-sized panto" called “King Canute of Westminster” took place on a blustery day in Stokes Bay Gosport. An audience of about 25 people braved the wind and responded appropriately with cheers and boos. The king made grand speeches but these weren’t matched by the money he gave to Mr Green for renewable projects after being influenced by Mr Fossil speaking for the coal and oil lobby. The king was generous with Mr Fossil’s climate-changing projects, and miserly to Mr Green’s renewable ones! All the while the king promised no floods, no fires and no sea level rise. However, through his spending actions, the sea eventually rose and lifted up him and his throne!
