A ‘land swim’ and synchronised swimming performance in Penzance to highlight rising tides caused by the climate crisis worldwide. The ‘land swim’ travelled from Newlyn to Penzance through areas that will flood regularly in 2050. It culminated in a community event: Tides Reach 2050, including "Out of Sink''s first ever synchronised swimming performance in Jubilee Pool, creative workshops, films, a speaker from Tuvalu, and events in schools. We also linked up with Penzance's Greenpeace march that carried on to Truro. This community event was supported by Sustainable PZ and was part of Feast Cornwall's Shout LOUDER project. Out of Sink learnt synchro in just 6 weeks to demonstrate the power of coming together in the face of a challenge - hoping to inspire the leaders at COP26 to do the same. Their routine ended with a visit from St Ives Mermaid to inspire hope and imagination going forward. Photo credit: Alice Bray Photography
