Energy Transition – Deciding Our Future

In-Person

We are now aware that highly damaging climate events are happening globally – damaging life, property and nature. Rapid advancements in science and technology, plus consumer demand, are depleting energy resources, creating high levels of pollution, and our energy demanding lifestyles are becoming unsustainable. Governments are under pressures to satisfy their electorates, sustain their economies and address environmental challenges. However, without international co-operation in developing and distributing new energy sources, and everyone’s co-operation this transition cannot be achieved. Awareness of the risk of inaction versus benefits of success is therefore clear. To achieve great success, highlighting individual and community success stories encourages and inspires new thinking and action – this creates sustainable and believable solutions. Our panel will discuss ways of accelerating the implementation of new technologies – including local community initiatives, with low-carbon lifestyles. The discussion will also explore:● How to raise awareness and inspire real change.
● Ways of sharing of success stories, to accelerate new thinking.
● How, beyond immediate family, community, faith or nationality we can foster a sense of global belonging and move towards a sustainable future.
