Climate, Migrant and Racial Justice Movement-Building Summit 2026
On 4-5 September, we’re holding a two-day movement-building event for representatives from groups across the country to connect and organise together at the intersection of climate, migrant and racial justice.
As the far-right continues to shape public discourse and policy, migrant communities face escalating attacks, border militarisation, and a deepening hostile environment. At the same time, climate breakdown is driving inequality and displacement as the impacts on people in marginalised communities become more severe.
The rise of racism and authoritarianism across the political spectrum threatens our lives, our communities, and the planet – but countless examples of solidarity and collaboration across the country have shown that, working together, we are stronger and more resilient.
This Summit aims to support the long-term movement-building needed to win our intersecting struggles: rooted in racial justice and collective joy. We are co-creating this space not only to organise together, but to connect, celebrate, and build the kind of movement people want to be part of.
Over the two days, we will:
- Connect through shared meals, arts and social space (including a party on Friday night!)
- Develop connections across groups, geographies and movements
- Facilitate discussions on intersectional strategy and policy, joint campaigns, community resilience
- Strengthen cross-movement infrastructure for skills, learning and information-sharing
- Hold open space for groups to share knowledge and to self-organise

Rooted Resistance, Collective Power will be free to attend. Registration is open until 7th August.
We’re asking that groups nominate one representative to join the event, to enable as many groups to join as possible. If you have any questions or have any suggestions for other groups to invite, get in touch with us at [email protected].
If cost is in any way a barrier to joining this event, we will help cover travel and accommodation through our Support Fund and homestays with local attendees. Details will be shared alongside registration.
We ask that larger organisations pay for travel and accommodation for their own representative where possible, and for the superstars to donate to the Support Fund to help ensure grassroots and less-funded groups can join. Please get in touch if you want to contribute to the Summit!
We are committed to holding this space in a way that supports the well-being of everyone who is involved, centring the voices and needs of those most affected by the systems of oppression that we are fighting. We will build on our collective care and justice, accessibility, and anti-racism practices from last year, and share them before the event. The programme will be designed with accessibility in mind, with plenty of breaks and wellbeing-focused activities. Food and welfare, snacks and drinks, a prayer space and a quiet space will be provided.
ABOUT THE CLIMATE & MIGRANT JUSTICE ORGANISING GROUP (CMJ)
The Summit is being organised by the Climate & Migrant Justice Organising Group (CMJ), a collective of climate, migrant and racial justice organisations, convened by the Climate Justice Coalition. We’re working together to build solidarity and collaboration between our movements and strengthen the intersection between climate, migrant and racial justice. The Organising Group includes:
